The Style Of Sweatshirts

My very own mother has been getting after me lately about my lack of style.  She seems to think that sweatshirts have no value on the style meter.

Well, that, or they fall so slow on the meter you can’t even read their style.

However, she still humored me and got me this very cute hoodie for Christmas.

She thinks it’s redneck.  I happen to like it.

I think it’s funny though how there are some clothes you just don’t want to let go of.  Even though I have this nice pink NEW sweatshirt, I still can’t let go of an old sweatshirt of mine.

It just holds too many memories for me.

I bought this when I was 15-years-old.  I was with a bunch of my closets friends on a mission trip to do puppets and work in VBS for a small church in Augusta, Maine.  We all wanted to buy matching shirts but the store only had a handful of sweatshirts like this in various colors and sizes.  I ended up buying an XXL adult sweatshirt as a 115 pound teenage girl just so I could match my friends.

Now, almost 15 years later I still wear it.  It’s still big, but it’s been with me through 3 pregnancies like a good old friend.  I just can’t let go.

From the trenches of motherhood…where I will always enjoy wearing my sweatshirts…
