Now if you are a country person or wishin'-you-were-a-country person you probably know what I mean. But for those who don't know what I mean, let me explain!
"Doing sweet corn" is when you pick the sweet corn, husk it, blanch it, cut-it off the cob, and then freeze it. (If you switch a few steps around you can Can it, too.)
To someone (Justin) born and raised on a farm this is REAL corn! My favorite part, besides being with family, is eating the fresh corn right after you've cut it off the cob. Hmmm, hmmm! Now THAT'S good!
Here is Micah "helping" but most of the time just trying squeeze the corn!
Micah's next to me...staying out of trouble.
This year his parent's rented a "hairer"* machine to "hair"* the corn. Emily really enjoyed helping to catch the cobs as they came through. Abby was too busy playing with cousins...so she's not in any of these pictures!
After the day was all said and done we fed the sheep the cobs.
(*I have no idea if that's the name of the machine, or if that's the technical term for taking the silk off the cob after you husk it...but that's what it's called in central PA...so that's what I'm calling it, too!)

I'm a Stay-At-Home Mom! Do I really need to explain that I REALLY need your comments?!
